Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how AyahEcho ("we", "us") handles information when you use our mobile app and website at ayahecho.com.

Information we collect

• Account information. If you sign in (Google, Apple, or email one-time passcode via Microsoft Entra External ID), we store an account identifier, display name, entitlement flags (such as whether you may run recognition), profile visibility, and a public ID you can share for Follow.
• Audio for recognition. When you use Listen, microphone audio is streamed to our servers to recognize Quran ayat and salah phrases. Audio is processed for recognition and is not sold. Live broadcast rooms share recognition results with subscribers — not raw mosque audio.
• Session history. Signed-in users may have Listen and Follow session records (metadata and recognized items) stored for History. Guests keep only limited local data on device.
• Optional recognition feedback. After a Listen session you may submit whether recognition was good or bad, including optional notes and session audio for improving recognition. This is used for operations and quality — not shown in your History.
• Waitlist email. If you join the website waitlist, we store your email to notify you about launch and related updates.
• Technical logs. We may collect diagnostics (for example errors, usage metrics, and Application Insights traces) to operate and improve the service.

How we use information

• Provide recognition, translation display, Follow/broadcast, and History.
• Authenticate you and enforce recognition entitlement.
• Improve accuracy and reliability (including optional feedback).
• Communicate about the product when you request it (e.g. waitlist).
• Secure the service and prevent abuse.

Sharing

We do not sell your personal information. We use service providers that process data on our behalf, including cloud hosting (Microsoft Azure), identity (Microsoft Entra External ID), speech/recognition infrastructure, and (when billing is enabled) subscription processing. Recognition results you broadcast may be visible to people who join your public profile or private session invite.

Retention

Account and History data are kept while your account is active. Live broadcast rooms and private invites end when you stop sharing. Optional feedback audio and waitlist emails are retained as needed for the purposes above. You may request deletion of your account and associated data — see Delete account.

Your choices

• Use Follow as a guest without creating an account.
• Keep your profile private (default) or make it public for search/join.
• Choose whether to submit recognition feedback after Listen.
• Request account deletion via Support.

Children

AyahEcho is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
